Porter's Book Shelf

Here's my first small project to show off. I painted this small bookshelf to match Porter's bedroom. I always forget to take pictures "before" pictures. 

But here's the wooden color of the shelves before I painted them. 

Step 1: I removed the shelves from the frame. 

Step 2: I sanded down the shelves to give the paint some texture to stick to. 

Step 3: I applied two coats of paint. Then finely sanded. And repeat until you are satisfied. :) (I had a picture of this, just can't seem to find it.)

Step 4: I used clear polyurethane to coat the shelves to give it a nice finish. 

Step 5: Put your sexy new shelf back together. 

And DECORATE!

Looks like Porter needs more books! :)
